Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH was established in 1991 at the historical Berlin Tempelhof airport.
Since then Beechcraft Berlin has acted as a representative for Hawker Beechcraft Company, Wichita, Kansas, USA in Berlin and the former East German states.
In January 1993 the company received certification as an approved aircraft maintenance organisation for aircraft with a MTOW below 2 tonnes and the King Air series.
At the same time, the aircraft maintenance organisation became a recognised Hawker Beechcraft Company Service Center. In October 1998 JAR 145 certification was attained from the German Civil Aviation Authority (LBA).
In September 2004 we received the authorisation as an EASA Part 145 maintenance organisation.
As part of the "confusion" which resulted from the planned closure of the historical airport Berlin-Tempelhof, Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH received notification of termination of contract for the company's offices and workshop. Together with the very helpful and responsible members of the Berliner Flughafen-Gesellschaft mbH and after several rounds of negotiations, a solution was found and our company moved to the international Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (BBI).
Construction work on the company buildings began at the end of 2004 and by the end of May 2005 Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH was able to move to Berlin Schönefeld.
Thanks to all those involved - the Berliner Flughafen-Gesellschaft mbH, the responsible architect and the craftsmen as well as Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH - we have created a modern, functional company ready to meet the challenges the future has to offer.
Since November 2006 Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH is also approved as EASA Part 21 Design Organisation and FAA Repair Station.
In December 2008, Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH has been approved as a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO+) in accordance with Part M, Subpart G with the privilege according Subpart I. That entitles our company to manage the continuing airworthiness of non-commercial aircraft as well as to carry out the airworthiness review of commercial and non-commercial used aircraft.
Beechcraft Berlin Aviation GmbH gathered additional qualifications to meet the future challenges in General Aviation. |
